BTV Episode One

Updated: 5 days ago

Tune in to the inspirations shaping Behind The Veil — and what lies ahead as the series unfolds...

Shot in Ibiza — from a tranquil forest to an ancient Phoenician tunnel — this episode’s art film by Petalita captures the essence of Behind The Veil. Featuring the radiant model India, the film celebrates the beauty revealed when the veil is lifted.

BEAUTY AND BEING

Behind The Veil is more than a collection of stories — it’s a place to feel and reflect. Inspired by the veil as both motif and metaphor, BTV offers original views on beauty, culture and wellbeing, all seen through a creative lens.

Episodes combine art films, articles, podcasts and more to explore topics that matter today. Monthly themes dive into the dynamics of modern life, taking a look at our relationship with ourselves, our bodies, and the world around us. Conversations and creative reflections ask questions that linger: What does beauty really mean? What does wellness look and feel like? And what lies beyond the filters that shape our social media feeds and our perceptions?

At the intersection of raw and retouched, appearance and authenticity, Behind The Veil reveals what’s often hidden — inviting new ways of seeing and being.

A COLLABORATION UNVEILED

In 2020, during a global pause, Louise and her close friend, renowned photographer Tracey Taylor, collaborated on this photography series inspired by veils. This marked Louise’s first exploration of the veil as both visual symbol and creative theme — one that would later shape Behind The Veil. Shot on Tracey’s Pentax 645 film camera along Ibiza’s quiet shores and beside a centuries-old church, the images capture contrasts: isolation and intimacy, softness and strength, the visible and the hidden. Through a lens of beauty and symbolism, they explore the many meanings of veils — both seen and felt.
